HOLY COMMUNION PREPARATION
Scripture for Reflection: 1 Corinthians 11:27-28 (NIV)
So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup.
Prayer of Preparation
Heavenly Father, I come before You with humility and reverence. I acknowledge my need for Your forgiveness and grace. If there is any sin in my life, I confess it now and ask You to cleanse me. If there is anyone I am harboring unforgiveness or resentment toward, I choose to release them and forgive, just as You have forgiven me.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Align my heart with Yours, and prepare me to come to the Lord’s Table with pure motives, clean hands, and a sincere heart. Thank You for the sacrifice of Jesus, for His body broken and His blood shed for me. I desire to partake of Holy Communion in a manner that honors You and brings glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Declaration for Communion Sunday
As I come to the house of God, I come prepared, with clean hands and a pure heart. I have examined myself, and I choose forgiveness over bitterness, repentance over rebellion, and surrender over stubbornness. I will approach the Lord’s Table with reverence and gratitude. I declare that through the body and blood of Jesus, I am forgiven, cleansed, and redeemed. My heart is aligned with God, and I am ready to worship Him in spirit and in truth. This declaration is my commitment: to honor the sacrifice of Jesus and live a life worthy of His calling. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Haven’t Received Jesus Yet?
If you have not yet made Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to receive Him today. Holy Communion is a sacred meal reserved for those who have accepted His sacrifice and entered into a personal relationship with Him. Today, you can place your faith in Jesus Christ as the atoning sacrifice for the forgiveness of your sins. By doing so, you will be born again and become a son or daughter of God’s covenant family. Once you have received Him, you can partake of Holy Communion as a child of God, celebrating His body and blood given for you.
Prayer of Salvation
Heavenly Father, I come to You today admitting that I am a sinner and in need of a Savior. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died for my sins, and that You raised Him from the dead. I repent of my sins and turn to You. I confess Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I ask You to forgive me, cleanse me, and make me new. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to live for You all the days of my life. Thank You for saving me and making me Your child. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
