The Ten Days of Awe (or Ten Days of Repentance) observed in the Bible and Jewish tradition.

  • In Jewish practice, the Ten Days of Awe (Hebrew: Yamim Noraim) begin with Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) and end with Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement).

  • These 10 days are seen as a time of:

    • Self-examination

    • Repentance

    • Prayer and fasting

    • Making amends with others

    • Seeking forgiveness from God and people

The 10 Days of Awe/Repentance symbolize a sacred window of divine opportunity:

  1. A season to reflect on your life before God.

  2. A time to repent and turn back to Him with your whole heart.

  3. A chance to reconcile broken relationships.

  4. A period to seek God’s mercy, cleansing, and renewal.

  5. A preparation for Yom Kippur, which represents complete atonement and covering of sin.

How Believers Apply It
Even though this comes from Jewish tradition, many Christians see the 10 Days of Awe as a powerful spiritual parallel. It becomes a time where we reconcile with God and with others, where we reflect deeply on the condition of our hearts, and where we renew our commitment to walk in God’s ways. It is a season of repentance, humility, and alignment with the will of God. These 10 days serve as a reminder that God calls us to live prepared, to seek His presence with urgency, and to embrace His mercy afresh.

For believers, the 10 days also point us to Christ, who is our ultimate atonement, our peace, and our reconciliation with God.

  • A 10-day consecration or fast leading into a deeper move of God.

  • A reminder that Jesus is our atonement (Hebrews 9-10).

  • A call to humble ourselves, repent, forgive, and prepare our hearts for fresh encounters with the Lord.

The Power of Prayer and Fasting
Prayer is personal communication with God that expresses our trust and dependence on Him. Through prayer, we pour out our hearts before the Father, give thanks for His goodness, and seek His wisdom for our lives. Prayer strengthens our relationship with God, aligns our will with His, and invites His power to work in and through us. It is not just asking God for things, it is abiding in His presence, listening for His voice, and partnering with Him in the earth. Prayer draws us closer to the heart of God and transforms us from the inside out.

Fasting is the spiritual discipline of setting aside food, or certain types of food, for a period of time to give greater attention to prayer. Fasting increases our sense of humility, reminds us of our dependence on God, and heightens our spiritual alertness. As we fast, we deny the flesh and sharpen our focus on the Lord, creating space to hear His voice and experience His presence in a deeper way.

Together, prayer and fasting unlock fresh power, breakthrough, and intimacy with God.

Dates of Our Corporate Fast
Our 10 days of fasting will begin on Friday, September 11th @ 6:00 p.m. and conclude on Monday, September 21st @ the end of the Atonement Ceremony.

Fasting Categories
Choose the level of fasting that is sustainable for you, and commit to it sincerely before the Lord.

  1. Absolute Fast – Abstain from all food and drink.

  2. Liquid Fast – Consume only water, natural juices, or smoothies made from fruits and/or vegetables.

  3. Normal Fast – Abstain from certain types of food (e.g., sweets, meats, processed foods).

  4. OMAD (One Meal a Day) – Commit to eating only one meal daily.

  5. Intermittent Fasting – Alternate between scheduled periods of fasting and eating (e.g., 16 hours fasting, 8 hours eating).

Spiritual Posture
Approach this time of prayer and fasting with an attitude of sincerity, humility, and faith. This is not about dieting or religious ritual, it is about drawing closer to God. As we humble ourselves before Him, we believe He will meet us with fresh grace, renewal, and breakthrough.

The Dates of Prayer and Devotion begin Saturday, September 12th through Monday, September 21st.

      1. Our 10 days of fasting will begin on Friday, September 11th @ 6:00 p.m. and conclude on Monday, September 21st @ the end of the Atonement Ceremony.

10-Day Devotional Theme Plan with Dates, Prayers & Declarations

DAY 1 – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2026
THEME: CONSECRATE YOURSELVES
Scripture: Joshua 3:5 (NKJV)

And Joshua said to the people, Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you.

Focus:
The journey begins with consecration. Before we ask God for what is next, we surrender ourselves to Him again. Consecration is more than giving up food; it is intentionally setting ourselves apart for God and allowing Him to examine our hearts, motives, habits, priorities, and desires. During these 10 Days of Awe, we are creating space to hear God more clearly, seek Him more deeply, and align ourselves more completely with His will.

Our prayer today is: “Lord, before You change anything around me, do Your work within me.”

Prayer Point:
Pray for personal consecration and complete surrender to God. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal anything in your heart, life, habits, relationships, or priorities that needs to be surrendered, corrected, cleansed, or realigned with His will.

Prayer:
Father, in the name of Jesus, as I begin these 10 Days of Awe, I present myself to You again. Search me, know my heart, and reveal anything within me that is not pleasing to You. Cleanse my heart, renew my mind, and purify my motives. I surrender my plans, my desires, my habits, my relationships, and every area of my life to You.

Remove every distraction that competes for my attention and every weight that hinders my pursuit of You. Give me a greater hunger for Your presence and a deeper desire for Your Word. During these days of fasting and prayer, sharpen my spiritual sensitivity so that I may hear Your voice clearly and respond to You completely.

Consecrate me for Your purpose. Prepare me for what You have prepared for me. I believe that as I sanctify myself before You, I will see Your wonders manifested in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration:
Today, I consecrate myself unto God. I belong completely to Him. My heart is surrendered, my mind is renewed, and my spirit is sensitive to His voice. Every distraction is losing its hold, and every area of my life is coming into alignment with the will of God. I am set apart for His purpose and prepared for His presence. I enter these 10 Days of Awe expecting transformation, clarity, renewal, and the wonders of God. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

DAY 2 – SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2026
THEME: SEARCH MY HEART
Scripture: Psalm 139:23-24 (NKJV)

Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Focus:
Consecration opens the door for examination. As we continue these 10 Days of Awe, we invite God to search beyond what others can see and reveal what is happening within us. Spiritual transformation requires honesty before God. We cannot surrender what we refuse to acknowledge.

Today is a day of examinations, not examining others, but ourselves. We ask God to expose wrong attitudes, hidden motives, unresolved offenses, unhealthy desires, and anything else that could hinder our fellowship with Him.

Our prayer today is: “Lord, show me me.”

Prayer Point:
Ask God to search your heart and reveal anything that needs to be confronted, corrected, healed, or removed. Pray for the humility to acknowledge what He reveals and the grace to respond.

Prayer:
Father, in the name of Jesus, search me and know my heart. Shine the light of Your truth into every area of my life. Reveal anything within me that does not reflect Your character or agree with Your Word.

Expose wrong motives, attitudes, thoughts, offenses, pride, fear, bitterness, and anything I have allowed to remain hidden. Give me the courage to confront what You reveal and the humility to change.

Create in me a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Lead me in the everlasting way and bring every area of my life into agreement with Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration:
My heart is open before God. I will not hide from His truth or resist His correction. God is searching me, cleansing me, and leading me. Every hidden hindrance is being exposed and removed. My heart is becoming pure, my motives are becoming right, and my life is coming into greater alignment with God. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

DAY 3 – MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2026
THEME: RETURN TO GOD
Scripture: Joel 2:12-13 (NKJV)

Now, therefore,’ says the LORD, ‘Turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.’ So rend your heart, and not your garments; return to the LORD your God.

Focus:
Fasting is not merely about abstaining; it is about returning. God desires more than an outward religious activity; He desires our hearts.

Today we intentionally turn away from anything that has caused spiritual distance and turn our hearts fully toward God. Wherever our devotion has weakened, our priorities have shifted, or our passion has diminished, God invites us to return.

Our prayer today is: “Lord, I return to You with my whole heart.”

Prayer Point:
Pray for renewed intimacy with God. Repent of anything that has created distance between you and Him, and ask God to restore your hunger, passion, and devotion.

Prayer:
Father, in the name of Jesus, today I return to You with my whole heart. Forgive me for every place where I have allowed distractions, responsibilities, desires, or other things to take priority over my relationship with You.

Restore my hunger for Your presence and my passion for Your Word. Draw me closer to You. I refuse to settle for a distant relationship when You have invited me into fellowship with You.

I turn my heart toward You again. Let these days of fasting awaken something fresh within me and restore what has grown weak. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration:
My heart belongs to God. I am returning to Him wholeheartedly. My hunger for God is increasing, my passion is being renewed, and my fellowship with Him is growing stronger. Nothing will occupy the place in my heart that belongs to God. I am drawing near to Him, and He is drawing near to me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

DAY 4 – TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, 2026
THEME: RENEW MY MIND
Scripture: Romans 12:2 (NKJV)

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…

Focus:
Transformation requires renewed thinking. We cannot consistently live beyond the level of our thoughts. During this fast, we are not only disciplining our bodies; we are allowing the Word of God to reshape our minds.

Today we confront thoughts that produce fear, defeat, insecurity, bitterness, limitation, and unbelief. We replace them with the truth of God’s Word.

Our prayer today is: “Lord, change my thinking so You can change my living.”

Prayer Point:
Pray for mental and spiritual renewal. Identify thoughts and mindsets that contradict God’s Word and intentionally replace them with His truth.

Prayer:
Father, in the name of Jesus, renew my mind through Your Word. Break every pattern of thinking that has kept me bound to fear, worry, negativity, insecurity, limitation, or unbelief.

Teach me to think according to Your truth. Guard my mind and help me bring every thought into obedience to Christ.

Transform my thinking so that my decisions, responses, and actions reflect Your will. Let the mind of Christ govern me in every area of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration:
My mind is being renewed by the Word of God. I reject every thought that contradicts what God has spoken concerning me. I think according to truth, I walk by faith, and I possess the mind of Christ. My thinking is changing, and my life is changing with it. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

DAY 5 – WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2026
THEME: RELEASE AND FORGIVE
Scripture: Mark 11:25 (NKJV)

And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him…

Focus:
We cannot seek freedom from God while refusing to release others. Unforgiveness keeps us connected to experiences God desires to heal us from.

Today we make a deliberate decision to release offenses, disappointments, betrayals, wounds, and the people associated with them. Forgiveness does not declare that what happened was acceptable; it declares that what happened will no longer control our hearts.

Our prayer today is: “Lord, help me release what I was never designed to carry.”

Prayer Point:
Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any unforgiveness, resentment, or offense remaining in your heart. By faith, release those who have hurt or disappointed you.

Prayer:
Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for the forgiveness You have freely extended to me. Today I choose to extend forgiveness to others.

I release every offense, every disappointment, every betrayal, and every wound that I have carried. Heal the places in me that still hurt. Remove bitterness, resentment, and anger from my heart.

I refuse to allow yesterday’s pain to imprison today’s purpose. Give me grace to forgive as You have forgiven me and freedom to move forward without the weight of offense. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration:
I choose forgiveness. I release every offense and every person who has wounded me. My past will not imprison my future. Bitterness has no place in my heart. I am free to heal, free to love, free to live, and free to move forward. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

DAY 6 – THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2026
THEME: RESTORE MY SOUL
Scripture: Psalm 23:3 (NKJV)

He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

Focus:
God does not merely want us functioning; He wants us restored. The soul, the place of our mind, will, and emotions, can become weary from life’s pressures, disappointments, responsibilities, and battles.

Today we allow the Shepherd to restore the places in us that have become depleted. We receive His peace for anxiety, His strength for weariness, His joy for heaviness, and His healing for emotional wounds.

Our prayer today is: “Lord, restore what life has depleted.”

Prayer Point:
Pray for restoration in your mind, will, and emotions. Ask God to restore peace, joy, strength, emotional health, and spiritual vitality.

Prayer:
Father, in the name of Jesus, You are the Shepherd and Restorer of my soul. Restore every place within me that has become tired, wounded, discouraged, or depleted.

Restore my peace. Restore my joy. Restore my strength. Restore my confidence and spiritual vitality.

Heal the wounds I cannot repair myself and refresh the places that have become weary. Lead me beside still waters and into paths of righteousness. I receive Your restoring grace today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration:
The Lord is restoring my soul. My mind is being renewed, my emotions are being healed, and my will is becoming stronger. Peace is returning. Joy is returning. Strength is returning. I will not live depleted when my Shepherd has promised restoration. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

DAY 7 – FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2026
THEME: ALIGN MY WILL
Scripture: Luke 22:42 (NKJV) Nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.

Focus:
Surrender reaches its deepest expression when God’s will becomes more important than our own. There are times when what God desires and what we desire may not initially feel the same.

Today we surrender our plans, timelines, expectations, relationships, careers, families, finances, ministries, and futures to God’s wisdom.

Our prayer today is: Lord, not merely what I want, let Your will be done.

Prayer Point:
Surrender every personal plan and desire to God. Ask for discernment to recognize His will and courage to obey it.

Prayer:
Father, in the name of Jesus, I surrender my will to Yours. I give You my plans, expectations, timelines, desires, and future.

Where my will conflicts with Yours, change my heart. Where I do not understand Your direction, teach me to trust You.

Give me wisdom to recognize Your will and courage to obey it. Order my steps and close every door that would take me outside Your purpose. Above everything I want for myself, I choose what You want for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration:
My life is surrendered to the will of God. His plans are better than my plans, His timing is better than my timing, and His ways are higher than my ways. I will trust Him, follow Him, and obey Him. God’s will shall be accomplished in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

DAY 8 – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2026
THEME: RESTORE MY RELATIONSHIPS
Scripture: Colossians 3:13-14 (NKJV)

Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another… But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.

Focus:
God’s work of restoration is not limited to our relationship with Him; it should become visible in our relationships with others.

Today we pray over marriages, families, friendships, church relationships, and every God-ordained connection. We ask God for wisdom concerning relationships that need healing, boundaries, reconciliation, strengthening, or restoration.

Our prayer today is: “Lord, let Your love govern my relationships.”

Prayer Point:
Pray specifically for your marriage, family, children, friendships, church family, and other significant relationships. Ask God to heal division and strengthen healthy, God-ordained connections.

Prayer:
Father, in the name of Jesus, I place every relationship in my life before You. Let Your love, wisdom, patience, truth, and grace govern the way I relate to others.

Heal broken communication and remove pride, misunderstanding, division, and offense. Restore relationships that You desire to restore and give me wisdom concerning those that require healthy boundaries.

Strengthen marriages, families, friendships, and our church family. Make me an instrument of peace, reconciliation, and restoration wherever possible. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration:
My relationships are coming under the order and wisdom of God. Love will govern me, wisdom will guide me, and peace will rule in my heart. My family is strengthened, God-ordained relationships are being restored, and unhealthy patterns are being broken. I will walk in love, truth, wisdom, and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

DAY 9 – SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2026
THEME: PREPARE FOR THE NEW
Scripture: Isaiah 43:18-19 (NKJV)

Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing…

Focus:
As we approach the final day, our attention begins to turn forward. God has been consecrating, searching, cleansing, renewing, healing, and aligning us, not simply to leave us where we were, but to prepare us for what is ahead.

We cannot fully embrace the new while continually living in the old. Today we release expired seasons, old disappointments, previous failures, and outdated expectations.

Our prayer today is: “Lord, prepare me for what You are preparing for me.”

Prayer Point:
Pray for spiritual readiness for your next season. Ask God to help you recognize and release whatever must remain behind so you can embrace what He has ahead.

Prayer:
Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for everything You have done in me during these days of fasting and prayer. Today I release every old season that You have declared complete.

I refuse to allow yesterday’s failures, disappointments, victories, or experiences to limit what You desire to do next.

Give me eyes to perceive the new thing You are doing. Prepare my heart, develop my character, sharpen my discernment, and position me for Your purpose. I am ready to follow wherever You lead. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration:
I am prepared for the new thing God is doing. I release what is behind me and reach toward what is ahead. Old seasons will not imprison me, old failures will not define me, and old victories will not limit me. God is making a way, and I am spiritually prepared to walk in it. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

DAY 10 – MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2026
ATONEMENT DAY
THEME: COVERED, CLEANSED, AND RESTORED
Scripture: 1 John 1:9 (NKJV)

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Focus:
We arrive at Atonement Day having spent these days consecrating ourselves, examining our hearts, returning to God, renewing our minds, releasing offenses, receiving restoration, aligning our wills, strengthening relationships, and preparing for what is ahead.

Today our focus is God’s grace, forgiveness, cleansing, and restoration. We do not conclude these days focused upon our failures; we conclude them focused upon His faithfulness.

Through Jesus Christ, we have forgiveness. Through His blood, we have redemption. Through His grace, we can move forward cleansed, restored, and renewed.

This is both a conclusion and a beginning.

Our prayer today is: “Lord, thank You for cleansing me, covering me, and restoring me.”

Prayer Point:
Thank God for the finished work of Jesus Christ. Confess anything the Holy Spirit brings to your attention, receive God’s forgiveness by faith, and dedicate the coming season of your life completely to Him.

Prayer:
Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for bringing me through these 10 Days of Awe. Thank You for every area You have revealed, every burden You have lifted, every place You have healed, and every truth You have spoken.

I confess my sins before You and receive the forgiveness and cleansing You have provided through Jesus Christ. Thank You for the blood of Jesus that redeems, cleanses, and restores me.

I refuse to carry condemnation into the season ahead. I receive Your grace, Your mercy, and Your forgiveness.

As these 10 days conclude, I dedicate myself to You afresh. Let what You have begun in me continue beyond this fast. May my life bring You glory, my choices reflect Your Word, and my future fulfill Your purpose.

I enter the next season cleansed, covered, restored, renewed, and ready.

Declaration:
I am forgiven! I am cleansed! I am covered by the blood of Jesus! I am restored and renewed by the grace of God. I will not carry the guilt, condemnation, offenses, habits, or weights of an old season into a new one. My heart is clean, my mind is renewed, my will is surrendered, and my life is aligned with God’s purpose. I leave these 10 Days of Awe different from the way I entered them.
